We’ve never been so excited to see a dumpster! Start Fort Wayne, Hoch Associates, and Michael Kinder & Sons (MKS) worked together to finalize plans for Atrium, the new 5,500 square foot co-working space in downtown Fort Wayne. Demolition on the space began this week.
“Start Fort Wayne is pleased to partner with Hoch Associates and Michael Kinder & Sons for the development of our Atrium co-working project,” said Start Fort Wayne president and founder Dave Sanders. “We worked for months to get to this point, and are excited to see demolition start this week. Every project has challenges, and Hoch and MKS really came to bat for us.”
Start Fort Wayne is making several improvements to the space on Berry Street, with the goal of creating an environment for entrepreneurs, small businesses, students, and startups to meet, work, and grow. Partitions are being removed in favor of a more collaborative, open environment. Casual gathering areas will facilitate discussions. Start Fort Wayne’s building and infrastructure committee considered every detail when designing the space–from flooring to the walls to lighting.
“Now we look forward to the next few months of construction while we work out the logistics, furniture, and setup of the space. We have had an impressive number of pre-signups so far and are thrilled that Fort Wayne entrepreneurs are seeing Atrium as the place they’ll get work done,” stated Sanders.
Atrium will open October 2016. We will post construction progress updates when available and as hard hats allow.
